Hi All,

As many of you know, Vin has been on an extended vacation this summer. Kara (Producer) Manning and our Rich Conaty have been kind enough to step in and cover the show, and engineer Jeremy (Rainer) has been hugely helpful with selecting and editing in-studio performances from past editions of Idiot's Delight.

Vin has been talking with us about possible changes to his hours on WFUV, and he's now made the decision to reduce his show time from four hours to two hours per week. So starting this Saturday, he'll be heard from 8 to 10 PM.

Obviously, those are some pretty big shoes to fill. In the short term, we'll be replaying some of the ID studio sessions between 10 and 12. We're glad to continue having Vin with us on WFUV for any length of time, and hope you are too.

Sometimes Less is more, Vin has gone from 6(or more) hours on WNEW to 4 on FUV
and now to 2 and I still enjoy,so whatever we can get is better then nothing .

I know we're supposed to say all these jolly things, but the whole #@!%ing world is breaking apart and drifting away. And now this.
I'm just going to have to go move in with Vin so I can hear his dulcet tones comment on everything.
He's drifting away. Next it will be one hour and then no hours.
Do I have to subscribe to "Radio Nowhere" just to hear him?
Vin Scelsa's voice is more important now than ever.
It would be nice to find out that it's live. The luxury of Live Radio.

So I'm back in front of the idiot box again tonight and grateful for
Vin in one ear and the Braves in the other...thunder shaking the house from time to time.
The trees hang panting while cicadas riot in their hair, chewing the air with their threats.
