I woke up Sunday morning to Chip Taylor singing Angel of the Morning. It's strange that I had heard this song done by various other singers and groups before, but this time I actually listened to the opening lyrics. What a really wonderful way to put the thought.
There'll be no strings to bind your hands
not if my love can't bind your heart.
It reminds me of something in John Hartford's Gentle on My Mind ...
And it's knowin' I'm not shackled
By forgotten words and bonds
And the ink stains that have dried upon some line
That keeps you in the back roads
By the rivers of my memory
That keeps you ever gentle on my mind
I look forward to hearing this interview a few more times on the archives this week!
